Rocky Mountain Rendezvous 2008

by Peter Stone
I was reading this book the other day in anticipation of our upcoming trip to Colorado. Elaine, especially, wants to encourage every collector and customer to enjoy the campfire, swap meet, riding, and model show fun with us so I thought I would share these sentiments.

The book title was Give Your Heart to the Hawks by Winfred Blevins. He describes the Rendezvous' of the 1800's, in part, like this:

"…..take the leisure to notice things -the peculiar feel of sunlight just before evening in high places, and warm rose of aspen glow, the sound of the creek and the sound of cottonwoods rustling beside it."

For the trappers of old and model horse folks, too, Rendezvous at Winding River is time for greeting old friends, exchanging news, and telling yarns. It is a time to enjoy life. For Elaine and I, and all the returning guests, Rocky Mountain Rendezvous is our annual carnival, high country fair, Mardi Gras, homecoming celebration, and harvest feast all rolled into one grand time.

Be a part of it……… for memories that last a lifetime!

I almost forgot, you can see a great slide show of all the fun we had at last year's events here!
